Bruni Erben Appoints Andre Barnard as General Manager in South Africa

New addition reinforces Bruni Erben’s position as a leading supplier of packaging materials and equipment to the South African market

Bruni Erben, a UK headquartered company with more than six decades of experience supplying closures, glass, and machinery to the wine, beer, and spirits markets today announced that Andre Barnard has joined the company as General Manager for South Africa.  Barnard’s experience at Guala Closures and Nampak Glass helps to strengthen Bruni Erben South Africa as he draws on the company’s expansive global network of sourcing partners to lower costs and assure quality products for customers.

Acquired in March of 2018 by Berlin Packaging, the world’s leading supplier of plastic, glass, and metal containers and closures, Bruni Erben builds on its 13 years of successfully serving South African customers by adding team members with in-depth industry insights and specific knowledge of the region and market.

“Andre’s arrival provides a huge boost to our operation as we continue to grow and service new customers, especially in the wine market“ stated Steve Bell, Managing Director at Bruni Erben South Africa. “We are always looking to strengthen our team with the most talented people in the industry. The addition of Andre bolsters our mission to help companies become more profitable through packaging products and services.”

Andre has been in the packaging industry since 1993 covering the wine, spirits and drinks markets, and outside work enjoys riding with the BMW Cape Motorcycle Club, exploring the many dirt roads of South Africa, as well as cooking at home and training his umbrella cockatoo.e

Responding to the record growth of the South African wine market, now one of the world’s largest with exports over 450 million litres per year, Bruni Erben South Africa continues to find income-boosting opportunities for vineyards and drinks producers throughout the region by providing innovative packaging products and solutions.

In November 2019 the company will re-locate to larger premises in Montague Park, Cape Town to further cater for this growing market and help customers be more profitable.
