Founded in 1998 and headquartered in Modugno (Bari) in southern Italy, Panvetri serves a wide range of wine estates, cooperative wineries, oil mills, and food manufacturers, mainly in the Apulia and Basilicata regions. In addition to wine and olive oil bottles, Panvetri’s portfolio includes beer, spirits, and sparkling wine bottles, olive oil cans, food jars, and closures. Le Parfait is known for its iconic glass jars and lids manufactured by O-I France SAS and its affiliates. Acquisition will expand wine portfolio in France, including Bordeaux.

Founded in 1984 and acquired by Lionel Fruh in 2008, Gerfran is a unique player in the Aquitaine region of France. Headquartered in La Réole, the company specializes in the sale of wine bottles with an emphasis on Bordeaux bottles and serves wine producers of all sizes, from small vineyards to large estates. In addition to wine bottles, the company also sells bottles and jars for beer, spirits, fruit juices, and food.

With warehouses across the southwest of France, Gerfran has strong relationships with its customers, who benefit from the company’s value-added services and turnkey solutions.

Glass and metal packaging offering expands in France

MILAN (16 February 2021) – Berlin Packaging, the world’s largest hybrid packaging supplier, announced the acquisition of Sodis-Uhart and Audoubert, two historic companies offering glass and metal packaging in France.

Sodis-Uhart was founded in 1979 in Biarritz as a family-run business and expanded in 2015 with the acquisition of Audoubert, based in Toulouse, creating a hub for glass and metal packaging in southern France. The two companies offer a wide range of glass and metal containers and packaging components and have more than 9,000 square meters of strategically located warehouse space to support their customers.

“Sodis-Uhart, together with Audoubert, will significantly expand Berlin Packaging’s product portfolio, especially in the food sector,” said Paolo Recrosio, CEO of Berlin Packaging Europe. “Moreover, both companies have strong customer and supplier relationships that will help us continue to expand, particularly in France and the neighbouring areas of Spain.”

The acquisition of Sodis-Uhart and Audobert is Berlin Packaging’s eleventh acquisition in Europe since 2016, confirming the company’s strong commitment to offering packaging solutions in all segments of the European market.
